South West Wood Products Ltd has over 50 walking floor trailers working solely to collect our customers material. We can also call upon the services of A.W. Jenkinson transport Ltd who run the largest fleet of walking floor trailers in the UK. These vehicles operate from strategically placed depots throughout the UK, ideally positioned to service our customer’s needs. This network of vehicles gives South West Wood Products an advantage over others to always deliver what we promise, with an unrivalled service!
Walking floor trailers are often roof loaded, have rigid sides and operate a contra-sliding floor system that can ‘walk’ the loads in and out making them ideal when there is limited access to heavy plant. Unloading is fast, safe and efficient and can take place even where there is restricted space available. Walking floor trailers can carry up to 20 tonnes of unprocessed waste wood when loaded by a 360-degree grab or loading shovel through the roof. They can also ‘walk’ bulk packed products by the rear doors. Whether this is pallets or bulk bags of waste wood.
South West Wood Products also have at its disposal the option to put roll on/off containers on site to collect smaller volumes of material. These containers are 40 cubic meters and depending on the density of the material can hold anywhere between 2 and 6 tonnes. These are more suitable for industrial, factory sites, clearance work, demolition and construction sites.
South West Wood Products can also accept deliveries from customers on their own vehicles or by their preferred hauliers. This can be any volume or size vehicle from small vans to bulk tippers.

The versatile A.W. Jenkinson Transport chipliner trailers, form a key part of the fleet’s operation. The curtains are designed to handle a large amount of pressure from bulk loads such as bark, sawdust and woodchips. Chipliners are roof loaded when carrying bulk and unloaded by having the load pushed out of the open curtain sides. The trailers can also carry packed and palletised goods.
At one time tipper trailers formed a large proportion of the A.W. Jenkinson Transport fleet – mainly used to carry wood co-products. Today the business still maintains a core fleet of tipper units used mainly to meet the demands of the animal feed, aggregate and road salt industries. The open-topped, roof-loaded trailers use hydraulic rams to tip their contents out of the rear gate. They are ideal where no unloading equipment is available but do require substantial headroom.
