Work as an Operations Manager for South West Wood Products

Successful candidate will be an experienced Operations Manager with a wealth of experience in the waste recycling or similar industry.

Skills and knowledge:

Will be NEBOSH trained

Will hold a WAMITAB or working towards attainment

FLT/Shovel licenses

Health & Safety trained

An indepth knowledge and understanding of production and machinery

Computer Skills – all Microsoft and inhouse package

Excellent Communication Skills – internal and external customers

Organisational Skills are essential to the success of this role

Must always present yourself in a professional manner

Responsibilities:

Responsible for the day to day management of the operational sites

Responsible for ensuring the daily production requirements are met

Responsible for ensuring limited disruption to production and the loading/unloading of vehicles

Responsible for ensuring there are enough staff to cover the production requirements

Main Duties:

Organise all staff on site and allocate work

Ensure all employees, workers and contractors have full H&S induction and appropriate PPE and issue work permits

Ensure all staff on all shifts are properly trained in each task, health and safety, fire

safety and are fully aware of associated risk assessment.

Ensure only trained staff use machinery

Manage holidays and sickness of staff, ensuring cover is provided

Report and deal with any disciplinary issues liaising with the HR Manager

Report accidents and near miss to H&S Team

Liaise with night shift production supervisor and ensure handover prior to shift start and end

Prioritise breakdowns and schedule general maintenance

Control Stock

Complete all paperwork accurately and submit within required time scales

Participate in weekly meetings
